Christmas 2014

I hope everyone had a spectacular Christmas (and Chanukah and Kwanzaa!) This Christmas was very bittersweet for me because it’s the first one since Dad’s passing, but I couldn’t have asked for a better day. My mother and brother visited NYC for the first time and Jay (boyfriend) and I had our first Christmas physically together (last year, I was still deployed overseas.)

We’re always hosting dinner parties in our NYC apartment, so of course Christmas was a great excuse to host another one. At one point, we had over 16 people in our place! It was wonderful though- it reminded me exactly what Christmas is all about. Time spent with close family and friends is always a great idea.

Because this was Jay and I’s first ‘real’ Christmas together, we’ve decided that our holiday tradition will be to host Christmas Day dinner at our place each year, as well as take a holiday photo together and add it to our tree. Here’s this year’s photo (taken with my iPhone:)

How was your holiday? Do you have any holiday traditions you celebrate each year?
